OMG, I did like…almost nothing but hanging out with my friends and going shopping for stuff, playing some Badminton and going on a trip to my brother’s college dorm and celebrating my uncle’s transport to the USA from China, he is actually quite happy that he could make it here in the US as an immigrant. Well, atleast now i have 3 family members going to the same college and i have nothing to worry about since I’m heading for college next year, now, I really do not know why everybody asks me which college I’m trying to apply for or what I’m trying to major in, but I do not have the solutions to being a grown up just yet, I’m still a kid living in my own world trying to be an adult and find a living and get married of course. I have not been tripping(worrying) lately about school nor do I want to worry about a thing related to school until the week before school. I’m actually excited at this point, it feels like I’m only taking a 3 week break from school starting Monday, which is about 3 days from now, so 3 weeks and 3 days until school starts. And I’m going to become a Senior, a descent senior obviously not a valedictorian or anything, I don’t feel as if i did much during my Junior year to be considered a Senior, i also Failed a class: Honors Chemistry, and sadly, that class happened to be an A-G graduation requirement course, even if i failed chemistry with a low D and a high F average, I do not regret not trying and taking that class seriously because I need to find a purpose to learn in order to learn what I’m about to learn, in my chemistry class with Mr.Schwartz as the teacher, was oblivious. I did not think about that class until the end of every 6-week report cards or progress reports showed up, i was lingering and thinking about why did I not try to pass that class and wined up in a good State College.

My decision towards my parents were unanimous and totally unavid, they thought something was going on in my life and that I couldn’t concentrate on doing well in school, but that’s not the case for me. I wasn’t being provoked of anything by anyone. I was just not trying and didn’t want to try because there wasn’t too much of a purpose in trying; if getting a bad grade means not trying, then I’m extremely confident that with a condemned personality like mine, I would prove that theory wrong. I tried my ass off in English class, junior year with ms. friesen, and I could not get any grade higher than a B-. That doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m dumb right? Fine, I was devoted in chemistry and maybe Chinese class too, but I tried in English class, and couldn’t get a good grade, I also tried in math class and got a good grade, can somebody explain that notion to me? The effort I’ve put in school during my junior year wasn’t as much as how much effort I threw in freshmen year or sophomore year, but I did best during my freshmen year. Now, I start to ask myself, do I downgrade every year? or is something really happening? I’m not too sure nor will I be too sure finding out.

Lastly, to put rejoice in myself and to calm down how much I’ve failed last year, I would like to wish myself and hope that I do not get drawn upon the same situation as I did before and that situation is truly regrettable and makes one feel extremely gloomy. For me to calm down, I need to think about the good times during my junior year and my previous high school experiences, my future expectations and my present is the present of course. Just saying that, I’m now going to prepare myself to not be a failure anymore and try to make myself exposed as a good competitor for SF State, so I can feel as if I actually completed whatever I was supposed to complete during high school and that is to accomplish something I’ve never done before in my lifetime and that is to graduate highschool and be a part of something to grab an experience of what my future life can extend to and what my formidable dreams have in store for me after high school.

Outside Entry #8: An entire week of Presentation

I’am a Student that attends Phillip and Sala Burton high school and is currently in a 10th grade english class typing up any topic of anything about anything. So, i decided to talk about next week, and how effective it is to me and what it is. This entire week will be all about presentations and what presentations are; Presentations depend on whichever teacher and class you’re taking and what type of presentation you’re going to work on. My presentation for my english class is simply to type out a revolutionary writing about any revolutionary movement involving civil disobidience or any civil rights act against prejudice, etc. I have not yet thought of anything to type out yet, but I will soon. For now, this entire week is all about presentations which are projects that are mandatorial and must be completely unless you have a perfect excuse for not doing it. In my other classes , science for example, I present while the other students grade me on it. In english, it’s not the same. Monday will be the day that my large stack of work is due and I do not want to add anymore extra work. Tuesday won’t be suffocating, all i do at that day is simply tell a speech. Wednesday is not going to rock. I’ve presented in my other classes but thursday and friday for me will simply be criticing about other people’s work. That’s pretty much it for the week after this, in conclusion this week’s presentation will turn out great for me.

Outside Entry #7 : 2009 NBA Playoffs, my predicting two teams to play off at the finals

The 2009 NBA Playoffs is the postseason for the NBA’s 2008 – 2009. The playoffs started on April 18 with ABC, ESPN, TNT and NBA Television broadcasting the games in the United States. Eight teams from each of the league’s two conferences qualified for the playoffs, all seeded 1 to 8 in a tournament bracket, with all rounds in a best-of-seven format. For now, there are 8 teams competing for the Championships to be crowned 2009 Winners of NBA. The eight teams are: The Pistons, Cavaliers, 76ers, Lakers, Bulls, Heat, Hawks, and Magics. I predict that the Lakers and the Magics will be the two teams competing in the superbowl. The superbowl is the most worth watching even of the year. This is something that happens once a year and only the best teams can play for the tittle of becoming the NBA champions of 2009. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of basketball. My favorite player is Ray Allen, Ray Allen is a top dawg in the team. He currently plays for the celtics, a team that couldn’t enter the playoffs for some reason. Also, I’ve started watching about 5 months ago, when my brother told me how amazingly of a shooter Kevin Garnett is. Kevin is, In fact the best player of the Boston Celtics, however he’s not my favorite player in the NBA so far. Overall, I predict that the Lakers and the Magics will compete for the trophy and the winner will turn out to be the Lakers.

Outside Entry #6: Will Hary Potter and the half blooded prince movie be worth watching on theatres?

Harry Potter and the half blooded prince movie is opening this summer. This will be a fantasy-adventure film based on the novel of harry potter writen by J. K. Rowling. This will be the sixth Harry Potter movie in the series so far. I personally have a small connection with harry potter films. I like to watch it, but the first two or three films that came out sucked. I hope the rest will be good and worth watching. I have indeed seen the trailer and it was obviously showing the main scenes of the movie. Knowing how the movie would look like, I predicted a summary to this movie; Dumbodor possessed dark magic, while everyone expects him to be a good man of pure magic. I have never read any chapter of any harry potter book. I just let it stay there and not even touch it. I personally hate reading books. It’s boring, I’d prefer watching the movie version of anything if it has a movie related version of it. Reading books to me, doesn’t make me a smarter person, I just get bored and sleepy of reading books. Watching the movie of something is actually worth it. Also, never have I finished a book with over 500 pages. Overall, Harry potter and the half blooded prince is worth watching. You just need to pay around $5 – $10 to see it, It’ll be less complicated to watch the film than to read the actual book, so don’t waste this oppurtunity.

Teacher’s make…

Teacher’s in our world is socioeconomically too underrated. How can someone who works to their best effort be paid that little and all they do is to help children’s learn, I don’t know but I want to know. Teachers are famous, they teach and get paid, but that’s ALL they do. Overall, Taylor Mali,a teacher, was a great speaker in terms of how he got down to things and expressed his feelings towards how teachers are taking things in and out. Taylor also spoke of adages that made tons of reasoning and can be provin wrong. He talks about the value and life or a teacher of his society. I think he was correct and shared open mindedly his opinions about valuation and identity. Why choose the term identity? The teacher’s identity is showing the information of a teacher, in this case, Teacher’s make a mid-amount of money but for what they put themselves through is just not worth it for most. A teacher’s identity is nothing to hide, but something to show and express. If you’re a teacher, then don’t hide behind something, express yourself to everyone to make yourself known to all. A teacher’s valuation, is how much they are valued, in this case would be how much they are paid and how much the state government cares about their physical health. When taylor said; “If you can’t do, teach”, that meant that teachers can only teach and can do nothing more in life to me. I don’t feel the same as that phrase. In fact, teacher’s are highly eduacated, they get paid enough, just not enough as they worked for. I mean, 8 years of college to become a teacher? Seriously, that sucks. It might even be all worth it, atleast you can stick around with childrens and teach as if you’re the instructor. You let them learn whatever you want them to learn. That’s the only thing cool about teachers. In conclusion, Taylor Mali shared his feelings about the teachers in the united states and how he feels about them and I totally have no problem with what he said.

Blue Eyes / Brown Eyes

The short clip expressed many prejudice acts of violence, when the blue eye kid called the brown eyed kid a “brown eye person”, it clicked a switch to the brown eyed person to immediately react and fight back to reinforce his reputation and his emotions. The reason that this clip was an example of prejudice is because it showed alot of revolution to it, brown eyes were treated as the nergo while blue eyes were treated as the white men. How’s this effective? Simple, racism. Racism has effected alot of ways of living for most people in a specific group, say brown eyed people or dark-skinned people. I find the clip quite unusual, It’s casual to talk about discrimination in my perspective. However Jane Elliot, the experimentor, was testing how one would feel if one is being racially abused by another. Even if they’re all in the same euthnicity, a group of white men with some being treated belittlely different, the belittled group noticed how black peoples would feel to be belittled. This is a great example of discrimination. There weren’t many drawbacks to this clip, except for being childishly treated as another group just because something is different eternally. That must suck, seriously. If I, a blue eyes person, were to be treated like the upper class or the more respected class, I’d probably not make an insult to those of the lower class with very few respect. I meant respect in a untormenting way. Not like nobody will like the brown eyed people and everyone will like the blue eyed people, but the blue eyed people will have alot more rights, that is great to me but not to them. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, I don’t feel it because there are tons of mental drawbacks, If I were in the brown eyed person’s shoes I’d suicide, as painful as that.

Deep Impact: What do you think of Kiri Davis’s short film? How did you feel when the little kid chose the “bad” baby? What hidden pressures do you feel as a teenager in 2009? Do you fight them or follow them?

I thought that Kiri Davis’s short film was powerful. I’m not dark skinned, I won’t know how it feels but I know that she was convincing to most africans and telling them to not be judged emotionally by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. That is sort of what Dr. King said too. They asked a kid “which do you think is the bad baby”? I didn’t really feel sorry for him to choose the black baby. I really didn’t feel sorry for him. What he believes or what anyone believes is what they accept, not what a majority of the world agrees on. I believe in whatever I believe in, I do not care if they do not exist. If a kid believes that the white guys are good and the bad guys are bad, then that is what he accepted as a fact. It’s just procuring atrocious information in my opinion, why? I live in the united states, I see alot of black peoples, some of them are very cool, most of them acts like any other black guy. They all accepted their culture. It’s fine with me, I know alot of people who does that and it doesn’t get to me. What gets to me is how big of a deal it is to talk about someone’s beliefs. I used to believe in the toothfairy, it doesn’t matter because I accepted it. What I’m trying to say is to do what you want, and believe whatever you desire to believe in, if you want to believe that the world will someday change, then keep believing. If you grew up in a bad envoirment, then it’s up to you and your family to either choose to maintain living like that or to change. “Change” is the key word, even today it is.

Real Friends: Do you have a friend who is wiling to give you advice you don’t want to hear? If so, would you listen? Why or why not? Is there anyone in your life you would give this kind of advice to? Whom?

I have tons of friends. Some of them just tell me stuff that I seriously do not want to hear, but I just hear it anyways. Most of them understands who I’am and what I’m coming from. When I wanted to share information, I make sure that the information is informative and not just bullshit. Most of the time I listen to music, sometimes I listen to advice. When I’m in a vulnerable state of losing myself mentally, I always have someone to get advice from. Yeah, when it comes to that I would definitely listen to advice. When someone is feeling bad or don’t know what to do in their lives, I would also give them advice depending on the situation. If I can solve it then I would try my best, but if that person is a jackass that I hate then I would never give the man advice. Giving advice to a person is based on what source it is coming from. For example, if that person has a problem that I can’t solve or a problem that I won’t solve, like a personal issue involving me, then I won’t help them even if I could help them. Advices just mean a given or told information about something from someone to someone. I normally give advice because I belive that advices that someone does not know can be really helpful and can make a someone’s personality better or to make someone feel better. Take my friends for example, they have problems, an issue that they do not know how to solve. What I would normally do, is to give them advice on how to get rid of that problem. It is really helpful not only to me, but to my friends and my peers.

The human/animal relationship: How did the video make you feel, What does it say about the human/nature relationship? What did it remind you of?

I saw a short clip of a young lion that grew up with 2 young men from a long time ago. The young lion was a cub and is named christian. Those two young men were the lion’s owner. The lion was just sent to the wild. A few months or years later. They have revisited each other after the lion was sent to the wild away from his trainers. How was that considered a relationship? Normally it isn’t, but the relationship that the lion had with those two men was just tremendous. The lion has had a tough relationship. A hard friendship or a bond with those two men. Those men treated the lion as a family, or even a little brother. If they haven’t seen each other for a long time and the lion didn’t look for them or they didn’t look for the lion, chances are that the trainers will forget about the lion or the lion will forget about them, but when they saw each other the lion was happy and immediately went to them and gave those two men a hug. That was sort of inspiring. To me, it showed that you should have a relationship with everyone, no matter if its a person or an animal. There is always someone or something that knows who you are or what you have done for them. Those men that i saw from the clip reminds me of my friends parent’s and the lion reminds me of my friends parent’s friend. When they meet each other again after being seperated for a long time , obviously they might have a huge shocking relationship as being one whole family again. So, my opinion of this was explained in mighty words. I have a theory of the human/animal relationship right now, we as human are made up of genes and animals are also made up of genes. Humans are atleast 1% related to lions. I think that animals could understand some of what we feel and we can understand them as well.

Setting up a practical joke: What makes a practical joke successful? What do you need to know about the “victim” to come up with a good joke and set it up?

What makes a practical joke successful? Firstly, a practical joke is a stunt or trick to purposely make someone feel foolish or victimized, usually for humor. There are just 2 key elements to make it successful. First, you need to get information about that person. You can’t just fool someone that you see, you need to know about him/her. Second, you need to find peoples that can act and expose them to whatever they’re acting for. What do you need to know about the victim? Anything useful. Like, how they react to things or how their condition is. You have to put alot of humor into your joke and try to drag their attention towards one proposition. In order words, you have to plan it out before having to trick someone. Make sure that they won’t completely take it seriously. Make sure that they are going to get in trouble or something. You need to have a play setted up and make sure that they think your the opposition. In contrast to that, simply just play or pull strings to that person. That is what makes up a good prank. Try it yourself, if you don’t think this stuff works do not blame me or my critiques or even my opinion. Also, if my first tactic doesn’t work on them, try using my second one. Which is to plan things out (self-explanatory) and find that person. Tell that person that his/her mother died, and they might say “who the f*** are you” or “do i know you”? Your response should be “I work for the F.B.I and your mother was found at the cow fields this morning. Haha, it always work.
